The poet in me has recently been awakened. I met a fellow teacher-poet at a training about Poetry in the classroom. I learned that when we as adults model writing poetry, then our students will not be so afraid to write poetry. The more we read, as teachers, the more our students will read-and write too! So, I became a poet again and wrote some simple poems about school. They are attached below. Enjoy! Let me know, if you like them.

These are the activities that the students make and then place in either their Poetry notebook or Poetry folder. My students love the Poetry station, but I have to add a new poem each week!

Hi Hanin,
I am so glad that you found some great ideas. I don’t have the nursery rhymes on audio. I don’t think I’ll ever produce any music! However, I like to use the Nursery rhyme cd by Dr. Jean. She has a website (drjean.org) with tons of great cd’s.
